Greetings all,
The Sunday 12pm
Congolese class with Mbayero and guests will still be taking place while
Mbayero is visiting home to Congo. Your support is greatly appreciated
as always. So, for the month of August
2013 at the Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts, 1428 Alice Street,
2nd fl., 12pm - 1:30pm, class will only be $12!
Please bring a
friend or two and spread the word. If you haven't been in a while, come
on back! If you've never attended, now is a good time to start! If you
know someone who's been contemplating taking a dance class, bring or
send them! Please bring exact change if you have it and come on time if
possible, it helps the flow of class, and allows us to end on time. See
you on the dance floor! Hope to see you all Sunday! Thanks.

Message from Host:
Please join us & fellow swim challengers in solidarity with the
Democratic Republic of the Congo to End Violence Against Women and
Girls. The CongoSwim Initiative (www.congoswim.org)
chose August 25, 2013, as a global day of action to send a WAVE of Love
to the DRC - and so, we will be taking over Margaret's old swimming
grounds for an evening of music, fun and food - and we want you, family
& friends to join us!
The first hour will be free swim time
with the swim challenges to begin around 7pm (which will only take up
the lane portion of the pool). Margaret will be swimming for 2 hours
non-stop, with more challengers to set up their own goals for the night,
as well. If you, a family member or a friend would like to join the
swim challenge - please email Margaret (myoungs@globalfundforwomen.org).
For those less inclined to swim, there is also a large grass area,
benches for sitting and a ping pong table. Oh, and we will be playing
some Congolese music and cooking up some delicious food on the BBQ! ***
If you can't make it - donations are gratefully accepted via the CongoSwim website (https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?ID=2017&AID=2758)
for Margaret's swim challenge. A portion of the proceeds will go to
Global Fund for Women in support of our grantees in the Democratic
Republic of the Congo ***
